Business Awards Categories 2024 

  • Professional  - The awards recognise professional excellence in the industry and across our professional communities, such as lawyers, accountants, real estate, medical, etc.
  • Homebased Business - Recognizing the excellence and hard work of a home-based business.
  • Primary Industries  - This award recognises and celebrates professionals working in primary sectors – including farmers, farming sector support industries and forestry.
  • Beauty & Wellbeing -  This award recognizes businesses in the beauty industry such e.g., hairdressing, nail technicians, masseuse’s, eyelash technicians and reiki etc.
  • Trades & Manufacturing -  Recognises businesses operating in the trades, manufacturing, engineering, building. Those that use effective methods and techniques focusing on improvement in quality, innovation, cost production, waste reduction, customer service and health and safety.
  • Retail   This award recognises the successes and achievements of a local and national retailer selling products direct to the customer.
  • Tourism, Food & Hospitality -  Recognises businesses in the tourism, food, and hospitality industries. Those that deliver a quality experiences and activities in the tourism industry, or those that deliver excellence in the hospitality industry such as accommodation and those that deliver excellent food and service.
  • New Emerging business -  New emerging business that have started since 2021.

Community Awards Categories 2024 

  • Service to Community - The nominees shall be outstanding individuals who have been involved in community service such as board, commissions or community groups and shall have demonstrated a sustained commitment to their communities.
  • Voluntary Organisation - A charity, voluntary, church or community group, or company that have demonstrated their service within the community.
  • Volunteer of the Year - A volunteer who has shown commitment, passion and care for their volunteering and made a significant difference to their volunteer cause and the community at large.
  • Leadership Youth Award - This award recognises a young person, aged 12-24 years, who has demonstrated excellent leadership skills in their community (this could be either a geographical location and/or community of interest).
  • Enterprise/Environmental award - This award is for individual or organisation who is working in protection and restoration such as driving social change for the benefit of the environment, restoring lands and waterways or pest management Nominee may be working towards reducing the impact of: Climate change, air and water pollution, water scarcity, loss of species and habitat biodiversity or loss of indigenous environmental knowledge and traditions.
  • Youth & Education - This award honours the educational sector that covers secondary, primary, and childcare facilities. This also includes extracurricular activities i.e., dance schools.
  • Outstanding Youth Champion Award - This award recognises an individual, or organisation, who has made a significant contribution to young people in areas including but not limited to, the arts, culture, education, the environment, health and well-being, research, or sport.

Apprentice awards 

Opportunity for businesses to present an award to their apprentice.

The Apprentice of the Year Award is presented to an individual who is undertaking an apprenticeship and has been outstanding in all aspects of their training.
